· Jesus endured to the shame for us on the cross- he was greatly humiliated by the Roman soldiers

· Hebrews 12:2- the Prize that is mentioned in the verse is actually us

· Jesus despised and ignored the shame to draw us near to himself




Definition of Shame

· a painful feeling of guilt or humiliation caused by the awareness of dishonourable or foolish behaviour

· The painful feeling arising from the consciousness of something dishonourable, improper and ridiculous. Etc- done by oneself or another

· A painful emotion caused by a strong sense of guilt unworthiness or disgrace


1. Understand with your heart and with your mind that Jesus Christ took shame for you on the cross
