• Eph 6, Colo 3 : Obey your parents, for it is right
  
• Honouring parents is something that applies to you all days of your life
  
• This is the only commandment with a promise coming with it
  

3 reasons to obey our parents

1. Home is a place where authority is learnt
   

• Delinquents parents will resulted in delinquent kids
  
• God have given our parents the authority to govern over us and thus we need to obey
  
• Proverb 22:5- parents punish us is for our own Good
  

2.The home is where heritage is acquired

• Heritage = experience
  
• Our parents have the experience from their life
  
• Proverb 16:31, 20:29
  
• Psalm 119:100
  
• Our parents know us better than any other people
  

3.Home is a place where love is experienced

• God want us to experience the unconditional love through our family
  
• Our parents in trying their best to be the best
  
• If we want to experience the love from God, we must begin by loving our parents
  
  

  
  

  Two Forces that Goes Against You:
  

1. You are trying to find your own identity
   
2. In your youth, you tends to felt very instance about things
   

5 Practical Things in which we can do to honour our parents

1. We honour our parents by providing them physically and financially
   

• Don't be a liability to your parents
  

2.We honour them by living honourable life

• We need to perform in our studies/work at the top notch condition
  

3.We honour parents by acknowledging and involving them in our life

• Inviting your parents for your life's key events (wedding, Baptism)
  
• Consulting them for advises
  

4.You honour your parents by taking care of them all their life

• Taking care of their old age
  

5.Honour your parents by leading them to Jesus
