HEY ALL!

Alright...heres last week's sermon notes for the 4th commandment

Alright, Verse of the sermon:

Exodus 20:8-11

8 “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 You have six days each week for your ordinary work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.

Obviously...the sermon is about SABBATH

So...What is Sabbath?
It comes from the word shabbat which means to rest

There are many forms of sabbath, including the day of sabbath which everyone knows, and also the year of sabbath, where people are not allowed to work on that particular year. And many many more!

So...Sabbath is basically..
1. A Day of Commemoration
-Of Creation
-A day to remember God

2. A Day of Rest

-Rest for Body
-Rest for soul(Prov 6:9-11)
-Rest for mind

3. A Day of consecration
-Consecration is to make something Holy

Worship allows us to focus on God.
Worship renews the Spirit

Skill comes from repeating correct but seemingly mundane actions. The same goes to the truth of Godliness.

Tats all folks! TATA!
