Ignite conference!-session1

Title: God uses unexpected people!
Speaker: Ps Joakim

1Corinthians 1:26-29
Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

We need to recognise that God calls us not for our talents/abilities.

In Christ, we are MORE THAN a CONQUERER

We have to realise there is NO LIMITS to what God can do, as long as we obey Him totally!
A step of faith will trigger God's power to come into our lives!

Exodus 14:13-16
Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still."

Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground.

God asked Moses to lift up his staff, and then the waters will part. Did the staff make the waters part? no way!, but it is God's power that made the waters part.

God needs us to take the first initiative to allow Him to bless us! In the conference, we heard of awesome testimonies when young people start to lift up their 'staff' by faith and God worked in them and through them to impact their schools!

If God can use them to impact the schools, He can use us too! Amen?

Session 2

Title: My School-The most important place in the world!

Why is school the most important place?

1-Because Jesus loves young people!

In the bible, God used young people to turn nations upside down n inside out, people like David, 12-years old brought victory over Goliath for Israel in the name of God. Mary: She was a teen when an Angel came to her and told her that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords is coming to earth through her!

2-Everyone is there!

People of influence in the future, are all still in schools today! maybe your classmates will become the next prime-minister/minister mentor of Singapore.

3-You are there!

God placed us in places where we are close to the people, but are we using the chance that God has given us well?

4-Strong relationships are being built

I believe that most of our best friends in life are made when we are still in school right?

5-You will get MANY MANY opportunities!

People in school you will get to see them practically everyday other than saturday n sunday. Since we see these people so many times, we will have alot of chances to share our faith with them!

6-The word of God has time to work

A average person needs to hear God's word 7 times, before he/she accepts Christ.
Lets start planting seeds of the Gospel into people's life!

7-A movement has already begun!

Session 3

2 Chronicles 7:15-16
Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place. I have chosen and consecrated this temple so that my Name may be there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.

In the verse above, we can see that God makes eternal promises. To this very day, people still pray to the last remaining wall of the temple of God, because they held on to His promise.

2 corin 6:16
What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people."

We are the point of contact between God and people.

3 things about God's temple, that we should have also, because we are the temple of God

1- It is available!
We need to go out to other people instead of waiting for them to come to us!

2-The temple of God is a house of prayer
It is the only place where people pray to God and have communications with Him in the past, now we as temples of God should also be praying constantly!

3-The temple of God was Holy
We need to be Holy, be different from other people in the world!

Session 4: ABC for school changers!

A is for Analyse
-We need to take a good look at our surrounding so that we can do the appropriate things

B is for Bible(The word of God)
-It is our foundation of knowledge about Christ. We don't want to become some1 that don't know wad we believe in

C is for Compassion
-Mark 8:22-25
They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?" He looked up and said, "I see people; they look like trees walking around. Once more Jesus put his hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.

some of us, like the man who was blind, need a second touch from God to be able to see things clearly, so that we can have compassion for the people around us

D is for determination
-We need to be determined to do the works of Christ.

F is for friends

G is for gifts!
-God gave all of us gifts to serve Him effectively
Matthew 25:14-30(story of the servants who were given talents)
The talents given to them where precious, two of them invested and used the talents and came back with more, but the other hidden his talent and came back with the same amount.

The talents given to us is for us to use for God's purpose, not to hide it in our house or keep it to ourselves as a secret.

Session 5
Title: A link in the Chain

Believe it or not, we are linked in a chain even to people that we have not known before who had gone before us and finished their parts of the race.

We are in a relay race, everyone has a part to play to finish the race.

When the people b4 us finished the race, they passed on their baton of faith to us, we need to do our best for our part of the race, so that we can complete the race TOGETHER

Remember the story of the 120 Christians on board of the Empress of Ireland?

They gave up their own lives, so that other people can have a chance to know God.

When the bell of the ship sounded, they knew it was time that their faith is put to the test. theres a verse that says, one that tries to hold on to his life will lose it, but one that is willing to give it up will gain it. they understood the meaning as they had gain life in Heaven.
