Saturady Nite Life 8 Sept 07
Titile- facing our failures
Pastor Daniel
  • failure is inevitable
  • James 3:2
  • the more successes you have, the more failure you will encounter through
  • don't allow other people to discourage your pursue
  • you see everyone gets knocked down, but it's how fast you get up that counts
  • 2 Cor 4:8-10--We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; 9persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. 10We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
  • 4things to deal with failures
  1. Acknowledge you failure
  • don't blame other people for the failures
  • living in a lie will never work
  • Joshua 14:10.. "Now then, just as the LORD promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the desert. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!
  • Isa 1:18..“ Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “ Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

2. applying the lesson of failure to success

  • failure can be a stepping stone toward success
  • we learn nothing in victory but we learn much in defeat
  • failure can be a door way to victory
  • when we face failures do not go back to the past
  • when we admitted our failures, we are also seeking a forgiveness from God
  • 1Peter 5:5-8... Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for “ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
  • not rely on our own strength but with God's strength
  • Failures is a good lesson, do not forget it

3 ways people deal with failures

1. gives excuses, lay blames and give up

2. keep trying the something over and over again

3. get feedback, change strategy and take actions till you succeed ( this should be the way)

3.Accepting failures as a fact of life, not a way of life

  • failure is an event not a person
  • if we see our self as failure we are doom
  • In God's economy, there is no such thing as failures but there is only potential for growth

4. arise from failures and start again

  • the natural thing to do when a person fall down is to start up again but not to sit there cry forever
  • self- pettying is not a wise choice
  • (God gave every one a second chance)Jonah 3:1-2.... Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying, 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.”
