TiTle: Worry

what is worry?



  1. lack of the trust in God

  2. worry can affects our health

  3. worry can affects our relationships


  • Job 5:2-resentment kills a fool, and envy slays the simple.

4. worry hinders our witness


Causes of worry



  1. the affluence of age

  2. difference stages of life experiences

  3. our pace of life( fast working pace from the world)

Solutions to tackle on worry



1 Peter 5:7-Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you



  • we should cast all our worries to God and not taking it back at the end of the day ( trusting on God)

  • Exodus 18:19-Listen now to me and I will give you some advice, and may God be with you. You must be the people's representative before God and bring their disputes to him.

2. Matthew 6:25-34:

3 factors to counter attack worry

1.Focus Factor- when worried , you will ose your focus

verse 25:25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

in Greek, worry actually means to pulled in different direction

focus on God instead of focusing on the worries

do not allow worries to take over our mind

we also need to slow down in expects in our life , stuff like entertainments

we tend to miss out our purpose of life when we concentrate too much on the things that we pursue in

Eph 3:20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

Matthew 6:32-33For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ( seek= strive,pursue,to desire,aim,to search for and to get to)

the different between the non-christians and the christian is the way we face the problem and christian have the peace that God give, when times of worries come

some pracitical steps to do to seek God First.

1) put God first( attend cellgroup and church service regularly)

2) pray and read the bible regularly

3) putting in your tithe and offering

2. Father factor- Remember his faithfulness

Verse 26: Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

proverbs 3:5-6Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight( don't use your own strength to try to tackle on the worries but lift it to God and depend on God)

3)Future factor- live a day at a time

verse 27:Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life

worry don't change the outcome but it affects your health

always have the move forward attitude but do not have that kind of attitude that want to go back to the wonderful past times

3) Phil 4:6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

release the request of yesterday, refuse the fears of tomorrow and recieve the peace of today

2 kinds of attitude to have:

1) Genesis 42:36Their father Jacob said to them, "You have deprived me of my children. Joseph is no more and Simeon is no more, and now you want to take Benjamin. Everything is against me!"( Choose to blame attitude)

2)Romans 8:28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,whohave been called according to his purpose. ( attitudes that is willing o cast out burdens to God)

eph 5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ( thanksgiving)
