Pastor Daniel
31st March
Experiencing God unit 11

>people living in cities are more lonely compared to people living in towns.

True fellowship creates community
>all of us are designed to have a solid fabric relationship.
>the world is a lonely place.

>there are many types of fellowship
  • good
  • bad
  • christian
  • non-christian

People need love.
A church should be where the DEEPTEST love can be found.

John 13:34-35
So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.

2 things of what a healthy community does
1. meet our needs for reinforcement
Ecclesiates 4:9-10
> 2 are stronger than one
>all of us need encouragement from one another
>we need company
> a fully functional church
Ephesian 4:14

2. meet our needs for accountability
>many young people are overconfident
>you CANNOT go through life alone.
>accountability, companionship, comfort
Proverbs 22:17

When problems happen, we need to solve it!

2 things that cause people to fall away
1. Relationships
2. Community

>True community is not just a group of friends.
>We need to put words into actions

What do you want the church to be?

>Stand for what we believe in love!
>If Jesus can be patient, we need to be patient too.
>Stop judging others or put them down!

>We need to be there even if it's inconvenient.
>When you sin, we will confront you and address the issue because WE CARE.
>People who correct you care and loves you.

>True community happens when conflicts happen
>We need to work on creating a community

>We need to face and deal with the problem
>Satan is always looking forward to destroy your relationship.

We're living in a narcisstic society.
"I AM THE MOST IMPORTANT"
>we're so egoistic that we can't accept criticism.

Things that are required for a commnuity to work.
1. Romans 14:13
So let's stop condemning each other. Decide instead to live in such a way that you will not cause other believer to stumble and fall.
>we should not judge
>disciple your people properly

In our relationships, there may be problem but we need to spur one another with love!

2. Romans 15:7
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.
>Jesus accepted you!
>We need to accept each other with love!

3. Colossians 3:16
Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
>we need to react towards each other base on the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:42-47
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, and to sharing in meals and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many signs and wonders. And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. They worshipped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's supper, and ate their meals with great joy and generosity all the while prasing God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship whose who were being saved.

>members of family
KOINONIA. =fellowship, participation, sharing, partnership, communion

1. Participation [Acts 2:43]
>we should share same spiritaul history
>your community is your cellgroup!
>we need to relate our spiritual experiences to each other

2. Sharing [Acts 2:44-45]
>shared their possessions
>caring is just an emotion
>fellowship means we take action
>we've to stop being hypocrites
>everything that we've belongs to God
>material possessions should not possess us!
>we should not be talkers, we should be doers.

3. Partnership [Acts 2:46-47]
>they worship together
>we need to worship together

4. Communion [Acts 2:46]
>took their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart
>food is tool of fellowship
>we bare our hearts to each other
