HaPPy NeW YeAr ppl~
hope u guys had enjoyed ur year of 2006, heres a new beginning n a new phase where we continue to work hard for God yeA?

title: new year resolution

I have not failed, i just found 10000 ways that won't work
-Thomas Edison

its up to us whether this new year is going to be a victory or a failure
verse of the day:
Philippians 3:12-16
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.

things which we should learn from paul:
1. Forgetting our past(Phi 3:13)
  • humans are very special being, in that God has given us the ability to remember, however, our memories can be either our friend or enemy, it can either make us or destroy us
  • our greatest glory is not in never failing, but it is in rising everytime we fall

we cannot focus in our failures...it will distract us from our successes

Missing oppotunities because we are afraid of failing is worse den failing itself!

DO NOT ACCEPT DEFEAT LIGHTLY

nothing is ever lost by failures or disasters, unless we allow it to be lost
Every dusk has a new dawn

Failure can be our friend (Huh?)
-Failures are pivotal moments that forces us to make a different path-a path to a better place!

As a rough guide, we can expect to fail 80% of the times in a life well lived

2. Focusing on priorities

  • put in the big rocks(top priority) in the container(plan) first

y? becus if we put in the sand and gravels in first there will be no space for the big rocks
1. seek first His kingdom and righteouness
2. determined to be more active in God's kingdom

Illustration: putting things in a container

first put the big rocks(top priorities) in the container, then put in the gravels to fill the space inbetween, after which add sand which will further fill it and the water which will eventually fill up all the space in the container

in that illustration, the big rocks are all our top priorities in live, like God, Family, Studies. the smaller items, like gravel, sand and water, these are things that will fall into place when the top priorities are put in

3. functioning in the present
people like to say i'll do this someday i'll do that someday, but never did they realise someday never comes becus there is no such day as someday

Do you enjoy your life as a Christian? for me it be a yes, wad about u?

Psalms 119:6
I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands

to live life to the fullest is to obey God's commands, as He made us and know how can we live our life to the fullest!

guess this is all for the last sermon of 2oo6!

enjoys~
