Governing Your Emotions.

the world will always say
if it feels good, do it.?
even Nike says
JUST DO IT.
but this is a deception.

we heed to realise that emotions are feelings on the inside that is caused by pain/pleasure
many times, we allow our emotions to take control of us.!

but we are made in the image of God to reflect God's love, power and authority.
AND THIS HAS TO START WITH EMOTIONS.

we are a tripartite being.
we are a spirit, possess a soul and we live in a physical body.!

soul is not a spirit.

when we think in line with the word of God,
we are walking in the spirit.

how you think would determine the type of emotions that will follow you.! and this gotta be in line with the word of God.

the word of God is the final authority that governs the way you think then your emotions will be emotions that are in line witht he word of God.

negative emotions will affect your entire life.

Jesus felt terror. when He had to face the whole world's sins for the first time.
did He not go on the cross, no HE DID.! He still died for our sins.!

talking about beliefs.
do you realised that the truth is even if someone dont believe in the gospel, IT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT HE DIED FOR ALL ON THE CROSS.


so if you dont wanna believe, it's your loss.
because whatever you feel, doesn't make a difference.
He has paid the price for you.

the 2 lies we often tell ourselves.
1.If I feel something, then it must be true.
Colossians 3:1-2

feelings are neither right nor wrong.
when you feel worthless, does it mean YOU ARE WORTHLESS.? no.! IT'S NOT.
feelings are lies.
Love is not a feeling, it is a choice.
2 Corinthians 10:5

God is true. Emotions are not.
Truth is always objective, consistent.
Emotions are subjective, inconsistent.

2.I can't control my emotions.
emotions are from God.
you can don't let your emotions control you.!
while you can't control your circumstances, you can control how you react to it.!
John 14:27
fear is an emotion that is not from God.
Phillipians 4:6
Mark 11:25
our bodies amy affect our emotions, but still we cannot let our emotions control us.!

FACT: if you dont't contro; your emotions, your emotions will control you and your body and mind will have to pay for it.!


Your emotions should be the servants of your will.!
bitterness vs forgiveness

2 Corinthians 2:11


What is true forgiveness.?
1. forgiveness is not forgetting.
you need to forgive first, then you can forget.!
you can't forget then forgive.!
Hebrews 10:7
Psalm 103:10

2.Forgiveness is a choice
if God can ask us to forgive, it means that we're able to forgive.
Romans 12:19
As long as we do not forgive, we'll be hook to the people who hurt us and our past.!
Until you forgive them, they will still be able to hurt you.
remember, when you let them off your hook, they are not of God's hook.!
you forgive so that you can be free.
forgiveness is between you and God.!

3.Forgiveness is a decision not to use the offence against them anymore
we must capture the thought of revenge and give it to God.

4.don't wait to forgive until you feel like forgiving.!
bcos, we will never feel like forgiving.!
